This session presents an extraordinary case study of a three-year-old boy, Benny, who experienced significant symptom reduction after just two therapy sessions. This case provides a unique opportunity to explore the inner workings of a young child’s mind. Through detailed analysis and discussion, participants will gain insights into the effects of short-term trauma, the unconscious anxieties children may experience, and the defenses they employ. The session will include theoretical considerations, practical therapy techniques, and interactive discussions to enhance understanding and application in clinical practice.
Qualifications:
Chana Mark, LCSW is a psychoanalyst in the Monsey area. She sees adults, couples, adolescents and children. She is a graduate of the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Training Program of the Willam Alanson White Instutute, and has a certificate from White for the treatment of Eating Disorders. She has published aritcles in several publications of psychological interest..
