● Welcome and introduction of the workshop’s goals.
● Brief overview of the importance of ethics and boundaries in mental health.
II. Understanding Ethics in Mental Health (25 minutes)
● Definition and importance of ethics in mental health.
● Overview of common ethical dilemmas: confidentiality, informed consent, dual
relationships, duty to warn.
III. Ethical Decision-Making Model (25 minutes)
● Presentation of a decision-making model to handle ethical dilemmas.
● Group activity: Apply the model to hypothetical scenarios.
Break (10 minutes)
IV. Defining and Managing Boundaries (25 minutes)
● Explanation of what boundaries are and why they are crucial in mental health.
● Discussion of common boundary issues: self-disclosure, physical touch, social
media interactions.
V. Strategies for Healthy Boundaries (25 minutes)
● Techniques for establishing clear boundaries.
● Role-play activity: Navigating challenging boundary situations.
