Learning Objectives:
  1. Participants will be able to articulate general differences between delivering counseling and psychotherapy.
  2. Participants will be able to identify essential components of a multidimensional bio-psycho-social-spiritual assessment determine a client’s medical necessity for psychotherapy as a treatment method
  3. Participants will be able to clinically evaluate, select and apply best practices and evidenced based interventions.
  4. Participants will be able to construct documentation to reflect a client's psychotherapy process from intake to discharge.

What is social work’s unique contribution to professional practice in mental health? What do we share in common with other mental health professionals? Exploring the balance of the human encounter and the technical application of knowledge and skill, this workshop aims to teach core competence to behavioral health practitioners rendering psychotherapy as a treatment method.
