Description
Sexual aversion is not recognized as a formal diagnosis in the DSM-5, but identifying and addressing this issue can provide significant relief to patients seeking treatment. While it falls under the broader category of “low desire,” its characteristics align more closely with anxiety disorders or specific phobias than with low sexual desire. Although techniques for managing low desire, anxiety, and phobias can be helpful, this course will offer specialized strategies for addressing this unique type of anxiety/phobia. Participants will learn to recognize sexual aversion, conduct a comprehensive multidimensional assessment, and develop targeted treatment approaches and plans.
