Young people experiencing mental health challenges deserve support, compassion, and care. The purpose of this course is to strengthen the knowledge of clinicians who desire to provide clinical support to youth who may be experiencing mental health challenges. In this workshop, the presenters will identify and describe the impact risk and protective factors on youth and their mental health and the differential between normative adolescent development stages and warning signs and symptoms. This workshop will provide clinical techniques on how to effectively engage and support young people who are at risk for or in the midst of a mental health crisis and provide a clear illustration and comprehension of the mental health needs of youth and adolescents. The presenter's goal is to improve the mental health outcomes of youth by providing relevant knowledge that will enhance professional development.
